Dane's Biography

Dane E. Leeman graduated from Ithaca College in 1995 with a BFA in theatrical production arts and a minor in writing. He moved to the seacoast area in '98 and was Seacoast Repertory Theatre's technical director for 6 of the next 9 years. During this time, he also designed some of his favorite shows and was able to work with Billy on most of them. "Midsummer nights Dream", "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest", "The Odd Couple", "Of Mice and Men", "Bat Boy" and "Ragtime" to name a few.
Dane has also designed sets for The Players Ring (most recently, "Equus"and "Alice in Wonderland"), Prescott Park ("Singing In the Rain","Into the Woods/Wizard of OZ"), Hackmatack ("Noises Off") and The Barnstormers ("Breaking Legs", "Sleuth", and "Toad of Toad Hall"). He designed the off-broadway benefit production of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" last year, yet another collaboration with Billy.
"Gay Bride of Frankenstein" is the second full length play Dane has written, but the first fully actuallized. It also marks his directorial debut and he would like to thank Billy and the cast for their patience. Dane feels truly blessed to be working with such an energetic and positive group of people on this production. Dreams do come true.
